Password problem after updating to Windows 10 in the UK

Don't know if anyone else has had this problem but, after updating to Windows 10, Windows would not accept my password.

Much head scratching and googling followed but to no avail.

In the end, it occurred to me that Windows 10 might perhaps default to a US keyboard instead of the UK one I normally use. For alpha-numeric passwords this probably would not be a problem but my password includes a # symbol. Sure enough, when I used Shift 3 (the US keyboard location of #) in place of the UK hash symbol, my password worked - to my great relief!

It was then just a question of changing the default to the UK keyboard - although this did involve downloading and installing an English (UK)
    language update.

    Now works normally as before.

Anybody else experienced anything like this?
