    I think it's a card game.

The "issue" is that MS wants to charge you for it now.

You can block all ads in Microsoft Solitaire Collection by applying the tweaks found here http://winaero.com/blog/block-ads-in...oject-spartan/

No, that's only to get rid of the ads in the free game. It's free if you don't mind ads.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\cards.dll

needed to run some of the old games.

    Edit
Some how I thought I had already mentioned that one would need the executable sol.exe ....

    Jagworld......

I've been playing MS Solitaire since the DOS days (1990) and still do at least 30 minutes a day, just to keep the old "hand to eye" thing working.
In Vista, MS in their infinite wisdom decided that old SOL needed a face-lift. Well, maybe for the rest of the world, but not for me.
I found the new SOL to be nasty looking and didn't play the same as the old familiar SOL.

So, I copied Sol.exe and Cards.dll (needed to play any Windows card game) from one of my old XP machines and transplanted them into
a new Folder on my Windows 8.1 or Win-10 PC(s). Cards.dll MUST be in the same folder with SOL.exe.

Old SOL plays just fine on Windows 10, after the transplant.

In fact, Windows 10, Pro, 32 bit, will even play some very old 16 bit programs.
    I'm playing a game that I bought on a 3.5" Floppy Disk, back in 1990, on Windows 10, Pro/32.

    Happy Computing!
