    MS Acct vs Local Acct

    Hey Y'all,

I'm in the middle of a major system scan procedure as I just got a call from my VISA issuer that I had an unusual charge for $3k+ from Sage Software. Yeah not mine! So I'm scanning and rescanning all of my computers just to be safe.

In the process I ran across an anomaly. I downloaded Windows Defender Offline on my wife's computer to our NAS. I then attempted to create a USB Key from my laptop running W10Pro w/MS Acct. I kept getting a Parameter Incorrect message. So just for kicks I tried it on my other laptop w/Win10Home w/Local Acct. No problemo! Go figure?

    Hey Y'all,

    This gets more interesting!

After successfully creating & running WDO on my Windows 10 Home w/Local Account I moved over to the Win 10 Pro w/MS Account and attempted to boot from the USB key w/WDO and I got this message:

This app can't be started 0x8004cc01

Error: Unable to detect a windows system drive. This could be cud to missing drivers, an encrypted drive, or a corrupted Windows Installation.

I checked just to make sure and BitLocker is Off per the Control Panel BitLocker App.
The system boots and works just fine so I don't see how it could be a corrupted installation.

    Weird!

I'm debating deleting the MS account and try it with just a Local account to see what happens. Of course, I'll Image first!
