    changing screen width

i have to use large fonts

to make chrome display them i have to also use large screen size typically 150 or more

the forum wastes half the screen on ads and other stuff that belong at the top or bottom not on the side

is there any way to make the display much wider andor get rid of the useless stuff on the side making the message box so small

i typically see only a few words width which is hard to read fast
and the quotes are only a few characters wide makign it almost impossible to read at all

this screen is great here. why cant we have all this space when we read the posts also.

so , is there a way to tell it to go wider and push the unneeded stuff off the screen and use the real estate for the actual message?

Log in, just like you did to post this question. It's necessary to log in in order to post, but you don't have to stay logged out just to read posts. Log in, and the ads on the side go away, just like when you're posting.

This is because Moderators get to use the Lounge shell instead of the Win shell which has the ads Bruce. Commoners don't have this option.

    i just logged out
    and logged in again

    same problem

    large fonts for bad eyes
and making chrome show at 150% so you can see the top and bottom of a font character
still has the very small text boxes and useless crap taking up the right half of the screen

quotes are only a few characters wide

and forget a double quoted message

i note that today this box is half the size it was when i first started this thread

would somebody please put the ads and crap at the top or bottom and give us back teh full screen for message use

Speedball, here's an easy way to eliminate the ads:

    * Make your screen sizeable (between minimized and maximized).
    * Stretch the right side so that the window is bigger than the screen.
    * Scroll to the left. Now you won't see the ads which are on the right side of the screen.

I started doing this on Facebook, when I get fed up with seeing the ads.

i note that if i edit a reply i get full screen width

so i guess i coudl reply post it
then edit to see the full message easily

but whta a pain to have to do that to read every reply

anyway if the hacker who made this system unusable wants to compelte the job then put some crap on the edit screen too and finish the job

this system is currently not usable
at least for us with bad eyesight
    winxppro and chrome

I used to hate commercials, until I realized that it was because of them that I got to watch my favorite TV programs for free.

    Sorry about your eye problems.

    it is not the commercials
    it is the screen display
and the way it is laid out

commercials could be interlaced and still let me see the messages at full width

this is just bad hacker design

too bad osha or some rights group for handicapped people dont get involved to get it changed to something useful again

You should probably take this out to the Browser Forum.

    Try F11. Or do Ctrl+ "+" . To make things larger,and Ctrl + "-" - to make things smaller.

Everybody has got different screen sizes. There is no telling from here if a screen is 25"(with 800x600) or 4'' (4096K UHD) .
