    usb microscope

I am coveting one of these since I saw a knife sharpening video (you would think after how many thousands of year we could at least agree on that, no way ). Eyes just getting older!
Any body have any experience with these. I am looking for <40 bucks preferably half that.

What you will get is a cheap video camera, maybe some very cheap optics and some digital zoom, resulting in a poor image. If I need to do close up work on small things I put my 3x reading glasses on (1 from the cheap shop). As long as I don't move my head too fast they are fine.
What do you want to use it for?

    cheers, Paul

David, I have an LED magnifying visor for occasional use with stuff like fine soldering. They're really useful.

I like that I can swap the lenses out for different levels of magnification but must admit I rarely use the LED because of the weight of the batteries. I previously used (and still have) a magnifying stand but found it too limited, for example when trying to peer inside the audio socket of an iPad to retrieve a snapped off headphone plug.

That rolson magnifying visor looks like a nice one, but does seem to have a vender on this side of the pond. All I could find was a cheapo knock off.
I will keep looking.... Gotta add a led desk lamp to that list.
