    Error upgrading from 8.1 to 10: 0xC1900101-0x20017

I tried several times to upgrade my Windows 8.1 laptop to Windows 10. Toward the end, it the upgrade process turns off the computer and when I reboot I get an error message with the error code above. Any help out there?

Check this link. It could be an issue with drivers for unplugged devices that are hidden in Device Manager.
Create a fresh drive image before making system changes, in case you need to start over!

I have been away for a while, but tried the solution suggested by bbearren. It did not work. I finally burned a CD from the downloaded .iso file and could upgrade to Windows 10.
