    Disk thrashing on Win 10

I booted up the PC with Win 10 (a while ago now) and it's been thrashing the disk ever since (it's a noisy disk, always has been). Top of the pile is "Microsoft compatibility telemetry" but I can't find anything useful online about it. Is it something that can be safely removed? If so, how?

Compatibility telemetry = stats that will be sent off to MS, see if it's triggered via Task Scheduler, you may be able to change when it's run?

That'll give the malware utility the chance it needs to take over the disk thrashing.

Just switched the PC on again and no disk thrashing and no Microsoft compatibility telemetry either. Perhaps it was just the patching mentioned by others
