IE 6 and Office 2000 and Windoze 2000 (IE 6)

Should I upgrade IE 5.5 to IE 6?
I see lots of problems reported in IE newsgroups

Howard, IE 5.5, while I used and liked it, had some problems of its own. The way it handled downloads meant that on some sites you had to do workarounds to download a file rather than just being able to click a download icon and get a File Save As dialog that wasn't pointed at the web page rather than the download file. I haven't had any trouble at all with IE 6, although I was leery at first also due to all the fuss.

I have W98SE, Office 2000, IE 5.5 and I can see no reason to upgrade any of these.

I'm with Charlotte on this one - I've had no problems with IE6, and apparently the security on it is much better than any previous version (the main reason I upgraded).

Last time I checked IE6 would not work with QuickBooks Pro 2001. Intuit support was quite adamant, "We don't support IE6." Perhaps that's changed since QBP2002 has been issued. <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>
