    Mail Merge

I am trying to merge an Excel data source into a Word label mail merge. I want each record to print 3 times. Does anyone know how to do this? I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks...

    Re: Mail Merge

There may be a more accurate way to do this with a macro. This method will work if the size of your label is such that the number of labels on a page are evenly divisible by three.

    1. Set up your mail merge normally, but don't do the last step (the merge).
    2. Go to the main document. Assume, for a moment, that you have 3 columns, so that it's evenly divisible by 3.
    3. Press Alt+F9 to see the field codes. In every cell after the first, it will start with the field {NEXT}.
    4. In columns 2 & 3, delete that field.

Now when you do the merge, you will get 3 labels for each record. If it's not evenly divisible by 3, you may get 4 or 5 labels for the same record, if you use the technique of deleting the {NEXT} field every 2nd & 3rd time it appears.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Phil - the alt+F9 was the key. I had an explanation but it didn't indicate how to view the codes. Thanks
