There have been a few threads on the Excel lounge over the last 2 months about pasting a Word table into Excel when the table has enters (or shift+enter) in a table cell. The Word table rows will not be maintained - eg, you may get several Excel rows for 1 Word table row. Depending on how the receiving Excel cell's are formatted will determine just how messed up things are.

While you can use Word's Replace to replace the enter (or shift+enter) in the Word table (a somewhat well-known approach in Word), there seems to be no way to replace the Word sequence with an Alt+enter in Excel (this is the Excel equivalent of enter or shift+enter in a Word table cell).
