Trashumancia in Madrid means lots of sheep

    By Kathleen Atkins
Anyone might wonder why you can stand on a street corner in Madrid in early November and watch thousands of sheep rush by on their way, with their shepherds, to their winter grazing lands in the south of Spain. Present-day Spanish shepherds don't want anyone to forget they have the right to walk even through the center of Madrid with their flocks. And here's some more good news: unlike the running bulls in Pamplona and other Spanish towns, sheep are not hugely inclined to gore you.

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.
