    $Windows.~BT question

I am on Windows 7 and do not wish to upgrade, even though I have to pop notice for the upgrade. But I noticed a new folder has just appeared on C:/ drive called $Windows.~BT. From what I can tell from a google search this is something to do with upgrading. But since I am not upgrading to Windows 10 it is worrying. Any suggestions?

Thank you. But this does not really answer the question. Looking in the many files and subfolders there is one large file called windows10.0-kb3081436-x64.cab. Looking this up on google it is an accumulative update for Windows 10. But I have not ugraded to Windows 10 nor have I reserved it as I do not wish to upgrade.

Why would updates for Windows 10 be attempted to install on Windows 7?

Thanks. The solution is on the Windows 10 forum title "Is Windows 7 upgrading without my consent?"
