    Setup.lst (VB 6.0)

    I am a complete novice when it comes to VB, but have run into a small problem with two visual basic apps created for my office. I've checked Microsoft's msdn and every VB book in the bookstore I could find, but they don't cover my question, which after this long introduction is...

    whether it is possible to assign the temp= line in setup.lst to something other then the c:temp( subdirectory).

    Our IST department has put a line in the autoexec.bat file to automatically delete any files/subdirectories under c:temp. This poses some evident problems when some dll files have to be installed during a re-boot because Windows uses them otherwise. While it is possible to remark out the line in autoexec temporarily, I am looking for a way to simplify the install. Any advice?

    Thanks,

    Alysha

    Re: Setup.lst (VB 6.0)

    Mine, generated using the PDW in Office Developer 2000, say

    TmpDir=msftqws.pdw

    I have no idea where that folder is created; perhaps under the WinPathTemp folder?

    Some possibly helpful information: <A target="_blank" HREF=http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=kb;en-us;Q189743>INFO: Description of Setup.lst Sections</A>
