Lenovo X240 upgrade to Win 10 loses ability to Sleep

Did the deed this morning. Upgraded my Win8.1 to windows 10 on my Lenovo X240.

I now no longer have Sleep mode - only Hibernate (and I can't select that from the shut down menu!)

How do I get that option back?

Have you check Settings | System | Power & Sleep?

If sleep is not available it appears your PC is not reporting the correct capabilities from the BIOS to Windows. Do you have the most current BIOS? Have you checked the BIOS settings?

A long night of downloading all the Windows 10 Drivers for the laptop, and then installing them this morning has seen the resurrection of Sleep! (Computer sleep that is not mine!)

There was a whole lot of new drivers that needed to be installed, including fingerprint driver, IntelHD drivers, the monitor INF, and many others. I think that the one that gave me back my sleep was the Intel Power Management Utility............

Thanks for the ideas and tips!

Hmmmm I did get the system up and running relatively smoothly, but after about a week of use, I kept getting BSOD, and other unwelcome issues. So...... I backed up the data that I have been working on, and switched back to the Windows 8.1 drive that I had cloned and was sitting patiently in my drawer for just this scenario.

I am back on Win8.1 and it simply works fine..... apart from the nagging Windows 10 upgrade notice all the time, its great to have a more reliable OS. Back to the drawing board!
