Windows 7 - Windows Update History is Gone

I uninstalled KB3065987 as it was a suggested fix to make the Windows Update Icon reappear in the System Tray. This worked.

BUT now my Windows Update History is gone. I can see the updates under the Installed Updates screen.

    I have 2 questions ...
    1) Is there a way to get back the Windows Update History?
    2) Is it a problem if the Windows Update History is gone?

This occurs when the contents of the SoftwareDistribution folder is deleted and may have occurred as part of the action of that KB - it's certainly one of the things done to resolve Windows Update problems but will have no effect on the installed updates and is nothing to worry about.

1/ You could try System Restore. No guarantee it will work though as History is just a log.
2/ No. It just starts again with the next update.

system restore won't solve the problem with the Windows Update history. Removing "Windows Update Client" updates such as KB3065987 or the newer KB3075851 will always clear the Windows Update history and that behavior is, in Microsoft terms "by design". It doesn't bother me.
