hp printer 6520 doesn't print, just spits out a blank sheet

see title. Is it possible that this is a driver problem?

    mopperson,

This file is remarked as solved, which might inhibit someone from posting a new response.

I was just talking with moopperson by phone, and his issue has not been solved. How did it get marked as solved, and how to "unsolve" it?

Thanks Zig, but there's some confusion; my problem has not been solved.

    Are you using HP cartridges?
Are you printing in color or just black?
Do you know the ink cartridges levels?

Without knowing very much info, I would suggest that your printer driver may be the culprit.

It would be helpful if we could know some information:
    * What version of Windows are you running? Or are you running something other than Windows?
    * What computer do you have?
    * Is the printer connected via USB or wireless?
    * Does the problem occur no matter what you print, or is it only with certain programs?

Back to the printer driver: In the past, I have had issues with the current printer driver. I have found that if I backtracked to an older version of the driver, the problem went away. Likewise, with an XP computer, if I installed the 2000 driver rather than the XP driver, the problem was solved.

Sometimes, the driver for your printer won't work, but the driver for a compatible printer will work. To find out which printers are compatible with yours, dig around on the HP website; see if multiple printers are listed when you bring up the printer driver for your printer.

Also, sometimes the PCL driver has problems, but the PS (PostScript) driver works.

Getting updated drivers seems to often be a problem with HP products; it's not in their interest to continue support.

Thank you for your (and others) concerns about my printer problem. Sorry for delay in acknowledging. I did yesterday (9/1) get in touch with HP help and got the service of a very helpful person named Noel based in Manila. I ceded control of my computer to him and he commanded me to clean some rollers on the printer and he also made the computer do some cleaning of itself. He printed out a test sheet including 4 colors and determined I need a new ink set which I ordered. There is also the issue of paper jamming or at least coming out with a fold. I should be hearing from him I hope tomorrow.
