    BIOS Update

    Hi,

I've got an Asus motherboard and, from looking at the Asus website, there appears to be an update for my BIOS. I've tried updating this through EZ flash option and by the automatic downloader that Asus have on their website, but neither option works - EZ flash produces an error message and the automatic downloader just hangs when I try and use it.

The ASUS motherboard that I've got is aP5KPL-VM-7/V-P5G31.

Can anybody help or is updating the BIOS something that I should leave well alone ?

    Thanks
    Steve

My personal rule of thumb is that if I'm not having any issues and things are working correctly, there is no need to update the BIOS. There is currently a BIOS update for my motherboard, but I haven't updated my BIOS because I don't have any reason to do so.
Create a fresh drive image before making system changes, in case you need to start over!

OK, thanks for your prompt reply. I'll sit tight until I need to update the bios.

I think it would still be useful to know why it's failing though.

What is the EZ flash error message ?
