Use field value as query column heading?

I have a table that contains vendors and different types of materials for each job. I am trying to create a query by vendor that will show them the job with the material as a heading and qty listed below.

    example data:
    job name vendor material qty
    100 job1 vend1 red 10
    101 job2 vend1 blue 8
    102 job3 vend2 red 15
    103 job4 vend3 green 13
    104 job5 vend2 red 12

i want the query for vend1 to look like this:
    job name red blue green
    100 job1 10
    101 job2 8

how might i go about creating this? I haven't used Access in several years and am just now getting back into it.

    thanks,
    jackal

    Jackal,

I would look into using a CrossTab Query. HTH
