Exclamation OEM version upgraded to 10 behind my back

I clicked shutdown, turned off the monitor and went about my business. When I returned to my computer it had upgraded from Windows 7 Professional OEM to Windows 10. I had previously tried to upgrade, but I was informed that since I had an OEM version, I couldn't upgrade, and the system rolled itself back to Win7 with no apparent harm done. Did Microsoft decide that the revenue from selling users information out weighed the license fees? Why the change of heart? Why was it listed as an "Important" update, and not "Optional"? And why on Labor Day? Were they hoping people would be too busy to notice, like my self. I'm a bit miffed, because now I have to turn off all the built in spyware, and test all of my programs. I'm not particularly opposed to Win 10, but I was prefectly happy with 7. GWX? WTF!

So was Win 7 Pro not the original pre-installed version so that the Pro key is different to the COA sticker key ?

Since you are perfectly happy with Windows 7 you should be able to revert back to it.
Do you want to do that?

I've already done that because I started having problems with it hanging on reboot and keyboard corruption. I started a separate post for that issue

GWX control panel is the easy way to prevent the upgrade.

I'd like to check that out. Can you post where I need to go to follow your progress?

What on earth would make you think that Microsoft sells user information, or did you just make this up?

If you look at all the permissions in settings-->privacy settings both in the machine and the ones you have to set online, there's way too much information being collected than is necessary just to keep my machine humming nicely...
