    Find files with extension (type) and date restriction

    Yesterday I wanted to find a file in a large folder with many subfolders. I knew it was created with Word (older version, extension doc) in June or July. Most results after entering *.doc were not of that criteria. I found no way to enter a date range (last day, last month, etc are there). Where in an explorer window do I accomplish this very common type (for me) of need?

    Thanks, George

    George,

    Try this in the search box:
    datemodified:‎6/‎1/‎2015 .. 7/‎31/‎2015 kind:=Document
    filters.JPG
    Of course this will actually return the equivalent of Doc*, e.g. .Doc, .Docx, .Docm, etc. but it will limit things.

    OR

    datemodified:‎6/‎1/‎2015 .. ‎7/‎31/‎2015 type:.doc
    will return the same list but using .docm will only return .docm files.

    I thanked by selection, but more thanks are deserved. As I typed datemodified: ... the calendar I was accustomed to in Win7 popped up; why doesn't picking the calendar icon do the same thing. Boo Microsoft.
