Hi,

Have a laptop computer running ME that connects to a Netware server in the
office and uses DUN when outside. It has worked fine for nearly a year with
no changes to the system. In the last week, the first attempt to connect
using DUN fails.

In saying the attempt fails, the dial up connects to the ISP, but no IP
address is allocated to the adaptor. Every subsequent attempt succeeds.

I've removed DUN and TCP/IP. I've created new dial-up connections. I've
removed all references to DUN, winsock, wsock and mstcp from the registry
and reinstalled. I've tried different modem drivers and initialisation
strings. I doubt it's the TCP/IP itself as it works fine on the LAN and I'm
reluctant to blame the modem as it seems to work no problem on subsequent
attempts.

Any suggestions.

TIA
