HDD 2 SSD: Worth Compressing Drive Before Transfer/Cloning?

My desktop computer has a 1TB HDD. I have a 500GB SSD. I have transferred my Libraries and such to another HDD in the computer so that only ~350GB is on the 1TB HDD. Would it be worthwhile to compress the 1TB HDD before cloning it to the 500GB SSD?

Compressing your hard drive will require Windows to constantly uncompress any files before opening them which will reduce performace and is only really recommended for backups/data that is not used often. Your cloning software should have the option to fit the data on to the smaller drive automatically, so compressing the drive is pointless anyway.
