    Locked updates.

    Hello.
    See the included .jpg :

    O2K.jpg

Since then, no update takes place, I get to see these 5 little dots going across my screen. If I go to remove an update, this seems to be concerned with O2K. Googling for it mentions W-8 update. It has failed to install but I think that somehow it is a stick in the spokes. What do you think ?

    All fine wishes. Jean.

Why is this in the Windows 10 forum?

    Hello, Joe.
Very good question and here is the answer : I am on Win-10 Insider and this is what I get when going to Update after clicking on Settings. All of this in Windows 10 so I think that this is a proper question here, no ? The date tells it all, 13 Sept-2015. Do give me credit for consistency.
    Still all best wishes. Jean.

Not sure how that update was offered to a Windows 10 system. It is for Windows 8. What build are you running?

Joe, thanks for the come back.
I am on 10532, the latest and greatest. Also, I am on Insider and Fast. Why it tried to give me that update might be due to the fact that I also run all of O2K here and they run true. I would like to find a way to get the updates to install again, when I go seek them, I get nothing except the 5 little dots going left to right endlessly. Honest !
    All best wishes. Jean.

Sorry but I have no clue. That patch is from May 2013 and is for Windows 8 & Windows server 2012. I'd remove the update if possible or use System Restore to a time before the update.

    Nice suggestion, Joe, Restore.
I wonder if there is a point ? Win-10 normally will void them. I will have a peek.

Also, removing the update is considered, I had a look at it before and did not remove it as I was afraid that it would also remove O2K in toto. I will try and let you know.

    All best wishes. Jean.

From what I can see it has nothing to do with any version of Office.

BTW, if you are really concerned about its affect on Office make an image backup before you remove it.

    Situation +/- under control, Joe.
I did a Restore to 2 weeks ago. I was really surprised to see that there were some points so I abused the privilege.
I then went into Add/Remove Prg and uninstalled the Office SR1, now all is fine and Updates is working as should too.

I do clones all the time, Joe, if this is what you call an image, we are in total agreement. A clone has saved my lower back so many times now.

This problem was on my laptop here. My desktop also here was cloned back a week ago as it would again, not accept updates. What is going on ? Anybody else getting Updates stuck ?

    All best wishes. Jean.
