I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this. Windows Media Player (WMP) 7.1 skips when playing an audio CD. This usually happens when multi-tasking. I know WMP is a massive resource hog. I can reproduce the problem on multiple Win98 PCs, but I have a PC with removable HDDs, one with Win98, one with W2K and one with Win XP Pro. It's a 1.7 GHz P4 with 256 MB RAM. This problem occurs on the Win98 HDD, but not the W2K or WXP. I know there are substitutes for WMP but, we don't want to support a bunch of different players. Since CD PLayer does the job I've just switched it to the default, but since WMP has so many more capabilities I'd like to have it as an option for users.. I checked MS KB and couldn't find anything.
Thanks for any input.
