Adobe Flash update for Insider Preview build 10547/10565?

Could anyone running build 10547 please check the Adobe Flash version by going to one or more of these sites in Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer?

    www.adobe.com/software/flash/about

    adobe.com/swf/software/flash/about/flashAbout_info_small.swf

Flash Player Help (click the Check Now button at Step 1.)

    Latest version is 19.0.0.185.

It appears to me that KB3087040 was never issued for Insider Preview, and a manual download/install fails with "Not applicable to this version".

Unless I'm missing something, this mean that Flash on Insider Preview is stuck on version 18.0.0.232 which had 23 critical flaws published two weeks ago.

    Thanks,

    Bruce

    Bruce, hello.

I do not run Adobe Flash at all on any of my many machines. Jean.

Very wise. But it's enabled by default, so I don't think this is a good situation for Windows Insiders.

I have 18.0.0.232 as well Bruce. A manual upgrade is not possible since Flash is integrated in IE 11. I'm personally not over concerned as bugs like this are part of the risk of running preview builds and feel confident with my browsing habits. I visit several Flash sites regularly.

I wonder what the released build of Windows 10 use.

I don't install Adobe Flash on anything, either. (No need).

I've got 18.0.0.232 on Edge and IE. But on Firefox (which I prefer to use as my main browser) it's 19.0.0.185. Also on Chrome & Opera.

Windows 10 RTM build 10240 got an automatic update KB3087040 to Flash version 19.0.0.185 on September 21st: A late update for Flash Player in IE

Although that update caused an error for many people, it was possible to download/install manually (which I did on 10240); but that's apparently not possible for 10547.

Just a thought, but MS may be trying to get rid of it altogether as others are trying to do since it has become so buggy and the door for a number of high profile hacks.
Obviously just conjecture on my part.

Microsoft has not released a Flash update for build 10547. That is the hazard of using pre-release software.

Yes, (good point), never use betas, Previews, Insider Builds (call them what you like) as production machines.

    Good morning, Joe.

I had stated that I never allowed FP to run on my many machines, I changed my mind for the fun of it and I let it install this morning. I went further and got into the "Setting Manager" and saw all kinds of spies there. I "removed" all that meant nothing to me. I had not seen this manager before, an education if anything. I will keep an eye on this too, amazing the things that FP keeps track of.

Anybody else done this in its settings ? Is this the absolute control of FP ?

    All best wishes. Jean.

Flash update for build 10547 lasted all of a couple of days.

Now build 10565 has 21 new published Flash critical flaws.

Patched in RTM 10240, but not Insider Preview (Risk Ring!)

As I said before, one of the hazards of running preview/beta software. If build 10565 is around for a while Microsoft will probably release a patch.
