Adjusting the Word 2016 Quick Access bar

I found the button to switch between touch and mouse mode, but it does not -- in mouse mode -- revert the spacing back to a more compact layout, and I "lose" a third of my buttons.

Is there a way to shrink the buttons and their spacing?

    Regards,

    Chuck,

See this link where you can at least cast a vote:

As of now, there is no way. You can do a lot more with a custom ribbon tab.
I use a custom ribbon tab with a number of menus. It is possible to have buttons/menus on the custom tab on the QAT. Note, this is an XML customization, not through the interface.
