    Windows 10 restarting by itself

A week after upgrading to 10, I came back to my machine after a few idle hours and found the lock screen waiting for my password. The machine must have restarted while I was away.

I'm wondering if this is due to 10 no longer giving us control over whether we want to install updates -and Windows is rebooting to initialize the new patches it downloaded and installed without my knowledge.

It isn't a loop so I don't see it a critical, but it feels like personal control of my machine is being gradually taken away fro me. Is there a chorus out there?

Check Control Panel > Power Options > Choose What the Power Buttons Do > Password Protection on Wakeup.

You probably have Require a password set.
