    Windows 10 printer issues

My printer is an HP Color LaserJet 3700dn.

I recently updated all of my machines to Windows 10 Pro (Desktop, HP Probook, HP Ultrabook - all 64bit)

My problem relates to printing of .pdf documents (generally, the scanned ones)

I have tried the HP Universal Print Drivers PS, PCL5 and PCL6.

The error message is: ERROR: syntaxerror
    OFFENDING COMMAND: - -nostringval - -

    STACK:

    /*********************
    False

The *** line can vary: /updatecolorrendering
    /setindexdcolorspace
    /OPIimage
    /thold_halftone
    /newencodedfont
    /ps
    /CTHasResourceForAllBug
    /AGMCORE_bad_environ
    /clonearray
    true
    /imageormask
    /get_gstatePS
    /?
    /read_image_file
    /setdeviceencolorspace
    /sep_colorspace_proc
    /featurecleanup
The list goes on. . .

Another error message is: PCL XL error
    Subsystem: USERSTREAM
    Error: MissingData
    Operator: ReadImage
    Position: 18

These errors occur when using the PDF Reader in Windows 10/Microsoft Edge/Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat v11 & DC.

I have changed the file association on .pdf to Adobe Acrobat.

Adobe Acrobat has a switch, “print as image” which worked well in the Windows 7 environment.

Fortunately, our second printer is an HP Photosmart 5520 which doesn’t display the same problem (however, ink is expensive)

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
