Create Excel Form to collect data from emails

A friend of mine was showing how easy to create a form in Google Sheets spreadsheet to collect all types of data in Sheets by sending out an email. It works with all emails not just gmail.

Does Excel have the same capacity?

Of course, but you have to program it in VBA.
What did you want to do exactly?

I want to send out 10 field in one row in outlook and when it returns the fields auto populate my spreadsheet. The fields sent out can be set up in one column. Even a button in outlook to populate my sheet in outlook world be nice. Some people have gmail, etc...

Let's say I want to send out a survey from Outlook email on my machine. When the survey returns I want a button to auto populating the info in my excel workbook/sheets.

    Where do you live?
    Occupation?
    Gender?
    etc.

You would probably save the returned files in a common location, then use a macro in a spreadsheet to open each file and extract the data. The extraction process would depend on the type of file used in the survey and would probably change for each different survey.
Basically, it's not a straight forward process.

If you can post a sample of the data you want to capture we might be able to suggest some things.

    cheers, Paul

Just an excel file with Headings

    Name Address Phone# alternate email

Some way the user can type in Outlook and the field go to my spreadsheet.

This may be easier to do in Google Sheet Form stuff. In Google Sheets forms an email goes out and the when the user add info in the email form and at the push of a button it shows up in my Google Sheets no programming or hassle. Sheet forms easily helps you develop test and grade it.

I can't see a way to do that with stand alone MS apps, you really need a web site to allow the interaction.

    cheers, Paul
