    Cool DISABLE Windows Update

5 days after I joined Susan Bradley's petition, I installed Windows 10 H and began tweaking it to my liking. That means, make it look as much as possible like the Windows 95 I used to have long ago.

To avoid delving in the registry I installed "Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4" .

UWT claims it can "Disable Windows Update Service".

I switched it ON, but I don't know yet if and how it works.
Of course it's not an ideal solution because it's an all or nothing choice, without control over the separate updates. Ruirib's link http://www.windowscentral.com/how-pr...-driver-update may very possibly complement the UWT tweak.

Anyway, I'll keep watching Susan's Patch Watch, and if she doesn't proclaim any dire warnings, I'll intermittently enable the update service AND use Microsoft's "Show or hide updates" tweak.

So how close did you come to making it look like Windows 95?

    I'm pretty close now.
Not yet 100 %. But each time I install an app (and I have several to go), I'm reminded of some tweak, and I proceed to do that in between installations.

So gradually I'm getting there as you can see in the screenshot of my king-size desktop.
(There's a photo as wallpaper, but it's NSFW. That's why I covered it with other objects. )

I've always made Win 98, Win 98 SE, Win XP, Win Vista and Win 7 look like 95.
Though I skipped 8 , for good reason I think.
Except for its light green desktop colour, the Windows 95 look is still my favourite.
