Win 10 Defender vs. Security Essentials

I was using Windows Security Essentials on my Win 7 PC that I just upgraded to Win 10. After the upgrade, Security Essentials appears to still be the active AV with Defender turned off. Is that normal or should I uninstall SE and turn Defender on?

    Yes.

If you have Windows 10, you can't get Microsoft Security Essentials.
But you don't need it, because you already have Windows Defender, which provides the same level of protection.
