As in Excel, you should be able to double click on the right border of a cell and the entire column will auto-fit to the longest entry in the column. I'm not sure how to get it done for more than one column at a time, however. In Word 2000, you can have all table cells automatically auto-fit, but I don't think you can do that in Word 97.

    Hi Arage:
    1. Select the entire table (Alt+dbl click).
2a. Then either hold the mouse cursor over a column line & double click
2b. OR right click & choose Cell Height & Width. Then go to the column tab, & click Autofit (I think it's on the column tab--haven't used 97 much lately).

    Hope this helps.
