Microsoft Admits Windows 10 Automatic Spying Cannot Be Stopped

I guess all this info MS collects from Win 10 is to protect all of us stupid consumers?

By default Windows 10 Home is allowed to control your bandwidth usage, install any software it wants whenever it wants (without providing detailed information on what these updates do), display ads in the Start Menu (currently it has been limited to app advertisements), send your hardware details and any changes you make to Microsoft and even log your browser history and keystrokes which the Windows End User Licence Agreement (EULA) states you allow Microsoft to use for analysis.

While I'm not at all pleased with what MS is doing, it's not worse than what a lot of things do.

    To put this in perspective:
--Many EULA's contain things that an average person might never knowingly agree to if the read them.
--Smart phones routinely give apps access to everything you do and track your every movement.
--Browsers routinely keep track of everything you do with them - deleting your history doesn't stop that.
--Websites keep track of everything you do and exchange that data with others.
--Emails can tell the sender if you opened the email or even previewed it plus whether or not you clicked any links it contained.

Privacy is something we used to have - but not anymore.

Addendum... Is this a boon or just another invasion of privacy:

Do they really want us to believe that? They wrote it so they should be able to change it. But then they probably can to their own benefit.

Enterprise editions can stop the spying, the rest of us cannot, other than the settings available in consumer versions.

As a service is a disservice IMHO.

Guessing might just be better than KNOWING.
