    Copy & Paste

    Ideas Please
I have always copy and paste all my passwords into the websites I visit, but the other night I was told this was wrong, I should typethem in every time because the browsers remember anything cut or copy andpasted. The passwords are not kept on the computer. Is this true?

I would consider getting a password manager such as RoboForm.

No, it's not true, in the sense that pasting your password in is any different from typing it in manually. Browsers can remember forms, but it doesn't matter how you enter the information.

The passwords are kept on the computer if you have it set to do so...two examples: IE and Firefox.

    IE AutoComplete Settings.jpg

    Firefox Security Settings.jpg

I have them turned off in both.

I cut and paste for most sites, sometimes CTRL V is needed as a mouse click is prohibited. Just in case I put in the password first and then the user name so the clipboard does not contain any important stuff. Just in case

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.
