    Increase Icon Cache Size?

Sometime within the last 12 - 18 months, I read a handy tip for a registry modification in Windows 98.
There was an addition (or modification) to the registry to increase the size of the icon cache.
I think I read this in PC Magazine, but of course, I can't find it now.
I've also searched both TechNet & the MS Knowledge Base to no avail.
Can anyone help me with this?

Get XTQ Set Up (freeware). It's under Interface in the Appearance plug-in.

Or, if you know how to back up the registry & aren't afraid of tweaking:

    Run Regedit
    Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentV ersionexplorer
Create a new string called Max Cached Icons
Give it a value of 4096 [current is probably 2048]. If that's not good enough, try 8192.
This will increase response time in windows and give the Shelliconcache file more room.

    Hope this helps.
