Win 10 local area network issues

I have four PCs networked. They are all on the same work group. They all run win7 pro or win7 home premium. The system has been working great for several years - no hitches.

I upgraded one PC to win 10 and the following happened. I can see the other PCs, but cannot modify files as in the past. The same is true in reverse. Is there some additional step involved with win 10 in order to network a PC? Like additional security steps?

BTW, why does the network setting on the Win 10 PC say "Private Network" rather than "Home Network?" And the text is not a link, implying you have no alternate choices.

Thanks for any suggestions, especially links to win 10 "how to" articles on steps to network various OSs... Paul...

Private network is pretty much the same as home network, both are assumed to be relatively safe and Windows allows more access.

    cheers, Paul
