    Table grid not appreaing in style palatte

    I created Table style and it is not appearing in style palette. When I try to create again, it says - 'Style name already exists in built-in style'. But it doesn't appear so that I can apply and use it.

    When I go to 'Manage Styles' and try to make it 'Show', I learned all table grid styles are hidden or deactivated. Please help me how to make Table styles appear in Style Palette.

    Thanks in advance!

    By "style palette" do you mean the Quick Styles Gallery on the home tab?

    Which version of Word are you using?

    Perhaps you mean the table styles on the Table Tools - Design tab? That is only active when a table is being edited.

    Which table style are you saving? What is the name?

    Table styles can be made visible/invisible just like any other style. As you have discovered, going into the manage style dialog via the GUI can result in frustration where those table styles are greyed out and you can't change their visibility BUT you can change these settings with macros.

    I routinely hide the vast majority of table styles in templates with a macro. The following macro hides all built-in table styles and then shows one specific built-in table style. You could take just the last line in this macro to show the specific style you want.
    Code:
    Sub ShowCustomTableStyles()
      Dim aSty As Style
      'This loop hides built-in table styles and shows custom table styles
      For Each aSty In ActiveDocument.Styles
        If aSty.Type = wdStyleTypeTable Then
          aSty.Visibility = aSty.BuiltIn
        End If
      Next aSty
      'Next line sets Table Gride to Visible
      ActiveDocument.Styles("Table Grid").Visibility = False 'perversely False shows the style
    End Sub
