FF ver. 42 and forum Mark As Read

Newest version (42.0) of FF is driving me nuts with forum use. Once I go through the threads I want, I mark the forum as read. If I then immediately do a FF refresh all the forum threads are dimmed as they should be. However, if I exit FF then come back the same forum later, lots of threads already marked as read are showing up as new. FF is working as it should in the forum, so it must be losing/deleting something when I exit. I have history set to delete on exit, but not cookies. Have tried a couple different combinations of exit settings with same result.

    P.J.,

Are sure there are no new posts to those forums/threads? HTH

Yeah, they're the same as when I marked them as read. There may be one or two new, but the majority are old.

    P.J.,

Check that you're accepting first party cookies and they are not being wiped at exit from FF.

FWIW: I've just switched to Pale Moon vs FF due to things recent FF updates did to the Grease Monkey script I use to read the Lounge. I doubt I'll be going back.

Cookies are okay and not being deleted on exit. This forum works correctly so it might be a combination of my FF and how they have that particular forum set up. Looked at Palemoon once, didn't like it though, and I don't do forums enough to warrant scripts. Shades of Compuserve there

Try the 'New Posts' button at the top or bottom of the lounge.
Works well as far as I can tell, lists threads w/ new content and then unread threads. Just ignore the forums you are not interested in. Also highlights threads you have posted in.

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.
