When should capability to return to Win 7 disappear.

I upgraded to Win 10 in August (not sure exact date), but still have the capability to return to Win 7, according to Control panel. Do I have to do something?

I think this may be preventing the November update from installing.

EDIT: Original Install date for Win 10 Aug 10, 2015.

Never Mind. I actually clicked the button and it said the files were removed. I thought the selection would have disappeared.

If you have the Windows 7 install DVD, you can return anytime, at a price of reinstalling anything from 3rd parties.

Actually, I'm not concerned about reverting to W7. I thought the "Go Back to Windows 7" button would actually disappear from the recovery settings control panel window after 31 days.

When I saw that entry still existed I thought it might be preventing the November update from installing. I guess I'll just have to be patient.

And if you do that please let us know if it results in "genuine' windows 7.

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.

I was assuming a total reInstall from absolute scratch with the original Windows 7 DVD that came with the computer. Otherwise, yes, non-genuine Windows possibly/probably will be the result.

Microsoft says it is rolling out the update in waves as was the case with the July 29 release.

Thanks Joe, that's what I have been reading also since MS seems to change everything daily. No problem for me on the waiting, actually it's working out for the best at this point.
