I don't understand the reference to fools with opinion. Did they say Windows 10 was good or bad? Or were they just reporting facts about how many will use it?

Drew: as always, "forever the detractor". The statement is an attack on the authors. The content should be the target (if something is to be targeted).

Looks to me like they are "guessing" that the business editions of win 10 will be popular and installed prior to Jan. 2017. Kind of a useless article to me personally. Not sure what Drew saw there as to "fools with opinions".

It is not clear whether Drew is for or against the "argument from authority" logical fallacy.

I would point those interested at the Wikipedia article on the topic, but it has been badly mangled by inconsistent editing. This article flows logically, at least.

I believe what Drew is trying to say is that "fools" (anyone who disagrees with Drew) on this board will say the article is opinion rather than fact. Since the article is a prediction
rather than a fact, it is yet another opinion. Gartner doesn't have a great track record on predictions IMHO.

    What can I say?

The fact vs opinion issue has been discussed in other Drew posts.

Are y'sl nice people aside from the Forum? Facts are not things that have not yet happened, btw. Gee you don't want to call it "opinion" when Gartner says what will have "according to them". Whether they are saying anything is good or bad is not relevant nor the point. But, you lot will continue to try and have your pathetic fun @ my expense. Have your fun. Pamper your egos. Impress people, detratct from the space & IT the cause. Again, remind the Forum it is not so a few can give one a pile of grief & indulge egos or enjoy twisting things so they can serve themselves.

Yes, & I will, (finally) stand up for myself & decency; calling something "rant" doesn't , in reality, diminish its truth; just more name-calling of a sort... names, per s, don't need to be use... principle y'all still apply, anyway.

    Drew,

This endless and factless raving about Windows 10 is reaching a limit where you are taxiing everybody's patience. This discussion is ended. Pursuing it again, here, will bring other consequences.
