Win 10 File Explorer VERY slow in loading files!
When I first installed Win 10 a month ago, clicking on file explorer brought up a list of folders and files almost instantaneously. Now, opening the file explorer window results in an almost bank screen with no info, except a slowly moving green bar at the top with the message:
"Working on it . . . "
"Working" on what!? If I have to wait 10-30 minutes before a list of files is presented, how can I use this compuer to do any work at all?

Several things to check...
1. Windows Event logs for errors around the date and time you get the slow loadings.
In Control Panel, enter event in the top-right search box and click View event logs in the result.
Expand the Custom Views folder and click on Administrative Events.
The Administrative Events contain Warnings, Errors, and Critical events from all event logs.
2. High CPU load. Open Task Manager and see what is running at the same time.
3. Disk errors. Run CHKDSK and see if it finds any errors.
