Win10 recommendations for decent display resolutions

Microsoft reports a minimum resolution of 800x600
Graphics card: DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver. Display: 800x600
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...specifications

This article mentions a resolution of 1024x600
    Display: 1024 x 600. https://www.thurrott.com/windows/win...m-requirements
--- The number of applications that can be snapped depends upon the minimum resolution for each application.
Graphics: DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver. Some games and apps might require DirectX 10 or higher for optimal performance.

I don't know whether or not I would trust a 800x600 resolution especially in the long run
    1024x600 resolution certainly sounds better
But on the number of applications that can be snapped I doubt the average person (like me) has any idea of how to determine that.
I'm going to be buying a Windows 10 laptop this year
I'm a simple computer user but I'm sure I will want to test applications that can be snapped
Are there recommendations for decent display resolutions for how many (maybe type) applications that can be snapped?

Even less expensive laptops can do 1920x1080. I wouldn't go below that, tbh.

I think the bare minimum for app snapping is 1366x768, at least was for Windows 8. From here to 1920, seems a small step, but there is a huge difference in what it allows you. I have just seen that, since I have just upgraded from a laptop with a 1366x768 screen to one with 1920x1080. I now know I wouldn't go back.

    Also from Windows 10 specifications:

The number of applications that can be snapped will depend upon the minimum resolution for the application.

Snap is limited to 2 apps in Tablet Mode.

Based on the above I'd recommend at least a 1920x1080 too.

Are you sure it is enabled? See Aero Snap - Turn On or Off in Windows 10.

@JoeP517: The "Windows Key plus arrow key" combinations work correctly, but dragging a window to left, right; or up or down does not produce a transparent overlay, so I can't drop the window to have it snap to that half of the screen. As I said: "Weird".

I'd check the settings. Turn it all off. Re-boot. Turn it back on. Re-boot again. If all that does not work you may need to try a system reset - Settings | Update & Security | Recovery | Reset this PC (Get Started button). You'd probably want the option to keep your files and settings. NOTE: a system image before the reset is a good idea.

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.

You didn't do anything. Whenever you add a thanks, you can remove it, so the link to remove is always present (although I cannot be certain that there is no time limit to it making its presence visible).
