Security updates not offered (was Windows 10 1511 not offered)

I have still not been offered the 1511 update on my PC (have had it on my laptop). I updated to Windows 10 when it 1st came out. The last Windows update I have received, apart from Defender definitions, was on the 10th November. Can anyone offer any suggestions.

    Thanks

I don't have a Win10 system running just now, but from memory:

    Start\Settings\Update and Security\

If there is a later system upgrade available (which will probably already have been downloaded) you should see an "Update now" button or you should see an option to install the update immediately with a "Restart now" button

I too haven't had the 1511 update and I've just checked Start\Settings\Update and Security\ and it doesn't have either of those options to upgrade. It doesn't seem to have downloaded either. I'm still waiting patiently - or should I be proactive?

It hasn't shown up for me either. I'm in no hurry though since I have seen that there are a few complaints about it posted through the forum. Guess I'll deal with it whenever it shows up.

Personally, I don't see anything about win 10 that I like better than win 7, just my opinion so I'm in no hurry for the update.

Thanks for that but I have gone there on numerous occasions & selected Check for Updates & all there has been have been Defender definitions. I have also run the troubleshooter for fixing Windows Update problems. I have also tried unticking the "Give me updates for other Microsoft products" option

I am not too worried about the Windows 10 update but it means I am not getting security updates

I did that several times in a row and finally got my update or maybe my upgrade.

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.

You can also get version 1511 by using the Media Creation Tool:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

It was updated from Threshold 1 to Version 1511 the last I heard.

I was going to say the same. The main reason some are experiencing a 'delay' in receiving the Fall Update is just the time it takes or is taking for it to be pushed out to so (very) many machines. That said, since there are, indeed, some cool things to the Update, I urge y'all not to wait... the (current) Media Creation Tool is 1511... go ahead & use it. I did this myself & it is worth it.

I would have thought I would have got lots of updates once I had gone to 1511, especially as my last security update was on the 10th November, but the only one I have received is "Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3103688)". I have been getting them on my laptop but not on my PC

Yes, you should see several Updates to version 1511 unless you ran some Windows Updates repair steps. My update history shows three cumulative updates since ZNov 10.

Have run the troubleshooter for Windows Update & that doesn't find a problem. Any more idea's. Looks like using Media Creation Tool was a workaround for the main update but did not solve the problem of why I am not getting offered Windows Updates

Alan1951, I don't know if this will help answer your question or not, but I finally received MY 1511 yesterday (3 December) after at least 1 if not more previously noticed attempts so that would appear to indicate that it IS on the way down the pipeline somewhere. If it matters with anything, I am running 64-bit Windows 10 on the desktop that just received it.
