    Recovery Drive System Files

I have been trying to create a Windows 10 Recovery Drive on a USB flash drive. Have tried on 3 different computers using different USB drives of 8 to 16 GB capacity. Have selected to include System Files but each time they are not transferred. All I get is about 4GB of boot and troubleshooting files. From what I have read, there should be closer to 8 GB of data.

No error messages, in fact I get the message that the recovery drive was created successfully.

Any thoughts as to what I am doing wrong?

    TIA

Does it actually create a bootable USB?
Try it without system files, it's probably that the USB stick isn't big enough.
Do you have a USB hard drive? If so, use a 3rd party backup program and you can create a bootable USB on an 8GB stick.

    cheers, Paul

Thanks Paul. Yes, the USB drive it creates is bootable and everything I've read indicates 8 GB is large enough, but I've even tried a 16 GB with no luck. Strange.

There have been instances here where 16GB isn't enough.
Do you have an external disk you can use? If not why not - you have to backup to something?

    cheers, Paul

Yup, I'll try the external drive next.
