    erratic mouse behavior

Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 Windows 7 - When I use the mouse to scroll on the right-hand vertical scroll bar in Facebook or any other program the bar jumps all over. the indicator goes from top to bottom continually. The only way to stop it is move the pointer to very top of the page. this is the only time I have this issue with the mouse. I have cleaned out the bottom of the mouse. have changed mouse pads twice, no difference. thanks for any suggestions

Have you tried another mouse? I had the same problem and turned out that my old mouse was going bad.

I think that may be the only answer - the mouse is only 2 yrs. old but gets a tremendous amount of use. thanks very much for your reply

Do you have the latest drivers?

Are you using a PS/2 connection or a USB connection?

If it's PS/2, the mouse should be using version 7.1 of the IntelliPoint software, otherwise 8.2 is the current version for USB.

If it's USB, try another USB port, or run the Windows Troubleshooter.

    Do you have pets?
Their hair gets into the most amazing places. As a last resort you might take the mouse apart and see if any foreign matter is in the optics.

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.
