    Excel keeps randomly crashing

    This has been an on going issue for almost 3 years. I hate to think the numerous hours I have spent trying to find the issue plus I know MS has spent numerous hours/days only to leave my computer in worse shape when they are done causing me more hours to correct whet they messed up. I have Windows 7 and 8.1 both with Office 2013, 64 bit, solid state drives, 16 GIGS and icore 5 and 7 so I have the power needed. This is the most recent crash which happened a few minutes ago.

    Any suggestions is appreciated. I've tried most of the things on MS forum. Now, I do use a lot of conditional formatting but it will crash on a sheet within a book when I try to do a simple cut and paste. Copy and paste is no issue. Opening a new sheet to do a cut and paste is also not an issue. It seems to happen in my books with a Macro more often. Then again, when I run the same application on Office 2010 or even Vista which has 2007 I have no issues

    I tried both applications and my Macro is getting hug up still which will happen before it crashes or I have to crash it because if not it will sit and spin for hours. The weird thing is it was working fine for about an hour and then decided to sit and spin.

    I guess what I am saying is even trying these 2 methods I still have the same issue

    This is the only Macro in the book

    Sub ResetBackToGame()
    Dim d As Double:
    d = Application.WorksheetFunction.CountIf([i2:i101], "?")
    Dim i As Integer:
    'make sure user entered positive number 1 to 50 into Q5
    If IsEmpty(Range("Q5")) _
    Or Range("Q5") < 1 _
    Or Range("Q5") > 50 Then
    'do nothing if is empty or value not between 1 and 50, inclusive
    Exit Sub
    End If
    i = 50 - [q5]
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False
    [I2:O101].Copy Cells(3 + i - d, 9) 'copies I2:O101 to position (3+i-d) rows down.
    Range("i2", Cells(2 + i, 15)) = "?" 'puts ? in I2 over & down to cleared row in O.
    [i102152].Clear: [q5].ClearContents
    Application.ScreenUpdating = True 'not required, auto-resets to True at End Sub or Exit Sub
    End Sub
