    MS Outlook scam

Got this email from a friend whom I help whenever she got computer problems. This is clearly a scam because Microsoft will never ask customers to update anything through email & the addressee is from goggle+ I told her to delete away all 10 emails & block the sender. These people are getting very creative

Whoever sent it has done their homework because the grammar is better than most.

It's the 10 emails that is the give away.

That and the use of Avast rather than Windows Defender...

I would guess that the AVAST was from Doris Tan when she forwarded it to the OP.

The Subject line (with no caps) reads "blocking of your account is been processed"

True, although I was referring to the main body.

Grammer may be better than some, but it's not good

The main body also has grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, for example: "discontinue support on your account and security" - what does that mean? "improved, conversations" - obvious misuse of a comma. The hints are in the writing - the confirmation is the source email address.

That sort of is the kicker isn't it? As if Microsoft is going to give Avast free advertising OR use their product over Windows Defender. And, of course, 10 identical emails is a dead giveaway too. We don't seem to be growing a smarter batch of crooks. Which is a good thing.

The lot of you missed it if 'the addressee is from goggle+'.

Goggle? I recall the tale of a dog named Goggles because it wore goggles when it rode in an open top car wearing goggles, while enjoying the rush of air that dogs love when they stick their heads out of the window of an automobile to scoop all that oxygen or whatever they are getting the rush from. Oddly enough I have seen a lot of reports of scams that use 'goggle' instead of 'google'.

Keep an eye out for that simple switch.

That's a typo by the original poster. The message is supposedly from googleplus. MS doesn't send messages like this to anyone.

I didn’t follow the link in the OP, for which I apologize.

For the benefit of all pet shop entrepreneurs racing to the patent office with designer aviator goggles for dogs, in lieu of giving me a cut of the profit I suggest making a donation to the anti-poaching (eggs excepted) charity of their choice.

    Two simple rules
If an email is from your bank or microsoft or another big tech company (apple etc) delete it
If a phone call is from the same people or the tax office or whatever and you do not know the actual caller put the phone down beside you and walk away for ten minutes - on some phone systems their phone is blocked from making calls for several minutes if you do not hang up on them
