    Unhappy print spooler problem

I am running the latest version of win 10, 64 bit. I have a 24 page PDF ( less than 3MB in size). Only 5 pages print when the printer hangs. The printer shows that it is printing, but doesn't seem to be getting any data. I am printing over wifi. Printing smaller documents is no problem. I opened the print spool folder and made some recommended changes from websites. Still cannot not print. I have an HP 6370 ink jet printer. Any ideas?

holdum333, thank you for the suggestion. I went to the site and it re-installed the printer driver after conducting its tests on my network and computer. However, the same problem was encountered: it printed 6 pages of a 24 page PDF document and the printer freezes or the spooler is causing the freeze. If I print 4 individual jobs of 6 pages each, the document will print entirely.

I am thinking that it is a windows 10 issue.

When the document stops printing has the print spooler service stopped?

Have you tried running the print troubleshooter?

Are you sure about the model of printer?

Try running the print troubleshooter like Joe recommends and see if it comes up with any problems! If you have the HP disc, you might try reinstalling it!

Sorry, I did have the incorrect printer indicated -- brain issue-- the printer is HP office jet 4630 running on wireless home network.

I checked the spooler and it was still running. I will try the trouble shooter again, I have removed the printer and re-installed it. Still same problem. I am currently using a laptop running win 10 and have the same problem when I try printing from my desktop computer running win 10.

Is it only a problem with printing PDFs? Perhaps its a problem with your PDF app. Try a different PDF app.

You might try updating the drivers for the 4630...

There is also a firmware update on the same page.

    jwoods,

Thank you for the suggestion. I went to the site and updated the printer software, firmware, and had HP conduct a printer test (which passed). I still experience the same problem. I guess I will just have to print 6 pages at a time; the printer can handle that amount.

Have you tried using another PDF application that @jwitalka suggested in post #7?

You could try another PDF App. Here's a popular one. Heard good things about it.

Have you tried using Edge to view and print your PDF's?
