    Installing Office Dev. (2000/SR1)

Hi, I'm just getting ready to put Office 2000 Developer 1.5 on my computer. The book I've been reading says that I can do a custom installment or Install on demand or just put everything on which I was going to do. I do not know how much it slow my comp. down if I did this but I do still have alot of harddrive. I am a novice and getting ready to take a class but was just wondering which would be the best way to go from someone with good Office knowledge. I'll need some of the VBA to run some of the programs but if I choose Install on demand I don't know for sure what I would have to do to get what I needed. I'm not sure about alot of things such as the ORW and how to register after I get the software on my comp. but right now I'm just looking for the best way to install. Thanks for any help and recommendation. Hokiejack <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

Do you already have Office Premium installed, or are you asking about installing the whole thing? There isn't much in the Developer tools where you would use install on first use. In Office itself, I install everything I'm going to use up front. The install on first use option is OK for stuff you might someday want but aren't sure of, but for things you know you'll need for development (like the text and graphics converters, all the help files, all the data access options, etc.), go ahead and install them to run from your computer.

Thanks Charlotte, I have not put Premium on but in my guide it tells me to put it on first. I'll start Installing it all. Thanks alot for your information. Hokie
