    Shortcut woes

A year ago I created a shortcut, with shortcut keys, to a document. All fine.

So now, for this new year, I have created a new document (with a different name) and I edited the shortcut properties to point to it.

When I click on the edited shortcut the correct document opens.

BUT when I use the shortcut keys, the old document opens, and I cannot set the same shortcut keys in the new shortcut's properties - Windows obviously thinks they are still in use.

I don't have a shortcut with the old properties any more (I've searched, and it doesn't exist) so there's nothing I can delete !

How do I sort this out ? Where does W7 store the shortcut information so I can get rid of it ? I am comfortable editing the Registry if that's where it is.

    Thanks

Well it's solved after much Googling - I hadn't expected the answer to be so very complicated !

However this little utility I found did all the heavy lifting for me:

    It's a "keeper"

PS: On further reading I find that a restart might have sorted it all out for me. Nonetheless the utility stays in my collection.
